ATI veröffentlicht neue Catalyst Treiber 8.1

ATI hat erneut neue Catalyst-Treiber für die ATI-Grafikkarten herausgebracht. Es handelt sich hierbei mittlerweile um die Version 8.10. Die Treiber sind sohl für alle 32- und 64-Bit Vista Varianten erhältlich.

Folgende Komponenten sind in dem Treiber enthalten:

- Radeon™ display driver 8.451
- Multimedia Center 9.16 (Windows XP only)
- HydraVision™ (Windows XP only)
- HydraVision™ Basic Edition (Windows XP only)
- Remote Wonder 3.04 (Windows XP only)
- WDM Driver Install Bundle
- Southbridge/IXP Driver
- Catalyst™ Control Center Version 8.1

Die Release Notes der neuen Catalyst-Treiber können Sie jederzeit hier nachlesen. Es wurden wieder zahlreiche Fehler beseitigt und einige neue Funktionen hinzugefügt, sowohl für XP als auch für Windows Vista. Als besonderes Highlight ist die MultiView Technologie, welche die OpenGL Beschleunigung mit mehreren Grafikkarten auf mehrere Monitore ermöglicht. Laut ATI soll auf allen Monitoren die gleiche Darstellungsleistung zur Verfügung stehen.

Der neue Treiber ist für folgende Grafikkarten geeignet:

• Bioshock: Flickering is no longer noticed during the cinematic introduction

• Half-Life 2: Episode 2: Playing the game on a system containing an ATI
Radeon HD 3800 series of product no longer results in the game failing to the
desktop when CrossFire is enabled. Further details can be found in topic number

• F.E.A.R.: A black screen no longer occurs when the display is set to
2048×1536 and the in-game AA option is enabled. Further details can be

• Lightsmark 2007: Running the benchmark no longer results in the robot
character not being drawn properly. Further details can be found in topic number

• Oblivion: Task switching between the game and the Windows Vista desktop
no longer results in corruption being noticed when AA is enabled. Further

• Oblivion: Flickering is no longer noticed when first making a move if the
in-game settings are set to maximum, CrossFire is enabled and AF is set to

• Oblivion: The game no longer fails and display corruption is no longer
noticed when the game is minimized to desktop and then restored. Further

• World In Conflict: The game no longer fails to the Windows desktop when
the display resolution is set to 1280×768 and AF is set to 16x. Further details

• Creating a secondary user account and switching from the secondary user
account to the primary user account no longer results in CrossFire™ failing to

• Connecting a secondary display device to a system containing an ATI Radeon
x1200/1250/1270 series of product and enabling clone mode or extended
desktop mode no longer results in horizontal line corruption being noticed
when using a high refresh rate and display resolution. Further details can be

• Connecting a secondary display device and enabling clone mode no longer
results in the inability of changing the display configuration when resuming

• Connecting an HDMI display device as the primary and setting the display
resolution to 1280×1024 no longer results in an error message when attempting

• The Apply and Discard buttons are no longer enabled within the OverDrive™
tab after applying the hotkey to restore default VPU and Memory clocks. Further

• Changing the Catalyst Control Center language support to Polish no longer
results in duplicate options being displayed within the Avivo video options.

• The text size is now set appropriately for the LCD Overview page when setting

• Truncated text is no longer noticed in the ATI OverDrive Unlock warning

• Installing either two ATI Radeon HD 2400 series products no longer results in
the ability to enable display device which are not connected to the system
within the Catalyst Control Center->Display Manager. Further details can be

• The Catalyst Control Center no longer intermittently fails to launch on systems
containing an ATI Radeon 9500/9600/9700 series of product and running
Windows XP or Windows XP Professional x64 Edition operating

• Theater mode is no longer disabled or unavailable when connecting two display
devices and enabling either clone mode or extended desktop mode. Further

• The incorrect spelling of properties in Avivo color help page is now resolved.

• Connecting an HDTV as the primary display device using a component video
dongle and any other display device as a secondary display no longer results

• An additional System Setting Change dialog box no longer appears when
